Who is TaKisha August?
Maternal Wellness Coach + Founder of Momkynd
TaKisha August is a mama and founder of Momkynd, a hybrid maternal wellness practice providing yoga, meditation and conscious education to women along the motherhood continuum both online and in her community just outside of Washington, DC.
A compelling writer, teacher and visual artist, TaKisha traded in a robust career in publishing and corporate consulting to cultivate safe spaces for women as they learn to unlock the internal tools available to them for physical and emotional healing.
She is passionate about her faith, movement, the healing of intergenerational trauma, and teaches women to love their lives and the people in it more freely…while mothering.
TaKisha holds several degrees and certifications, to include a B.A. in communications from VA State University, a Master’s in Publishing from The George Washington University, and recognition as an RYT 500 and Perinatal Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance. She is also a Certified Women’s Health Coach specializing in reproductive health with training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, the Fix Your Period Apprenticeship Program, and The Shakti School Ayurvedic Wellness program; as well as a birth and postpartum Doula trained through DONA International and Mama Glow.
